This book contained an account of the successful education of another deaf and blind woman, Laura Bridgman. In 1886, Helen’s mother had been inspired when reading Charles Dickens' work “American Notes for General Circulation” (still in print today). At around 19 months, she became seriously ill with a fever, which resulted in her becoming both deaf and blind. Helen Keller was born on 27 June 1880 in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Who is this?
