![]() ![]() The problem I've seen is that Password Safe does not appear to recognize the lock file (plk) on another computer after the lock file (and database psafe3 file) has sync and appears in the Dropbox folder of said computer (I'm assuming the first computer created a database or opened one in r/w mode in the Dropbox folder and still has it open). I have in the past attempted to do what you are doing using different Windows computers. I've attached the logs from a stack trace using "strace -ff -tt -p -o strace-pwsafe.log". I copied the Linux created plk file out, closed pwsafe, copied the plk file back in, opened pwsafe and saw the message as it should be: I deleted the plk file, and now it opens correctly every time. There was no indication in the warning as to what the issue was, but I noticed the plk file, and some ibak files in the same directory. When I did a cat of the file and I saw my Windows computer name. When I opened the psafe3 from Linux, pwsafe didn't know how to display the contents of the plk file created in Windows correctly/well, but did the best it could. I'm synchronizing content from Microsoft OneDrive, so I can access from multiple platforms: Windows, Linux, Android. tldr version is that a 'plk' file existed from accessing my psafe3 file from Windows. If any of this is unclear or you need more info, please reach out. My preference is to use the file in ~/OneDrive/My Safes/ I'm open to suggestions on how to identify this. Possibly due to a permission that is cascading down from a upper level. Therefore, it does appear to be a permissions issue. Moving the file to a directory like 'Downloads/My Safes/' works as well. like Downloads, then Password Safe opens the file correctly as R-W. If I copy or move the file from it's current location to another. I modified others to R/W and experienced the same issue: Password Safe Linux v1.06 opens the file as R-O. When I view the permissions on my psafe3 file, it shows I have R/W access, while others have R/O access (see below). It's high time I wrote a review for this!īack to the issue at hand. I love the product and have used it personally and professionally. ![]() I've been using Password Safe for 15+ years on Windows, last 2 years or so on Android and last few months on Linux (Ubuntu 18.04). ![]()
